The Collectible
Time always seems to move faster… when it’s running out. What would you do if you only had a year left to live? Would you squander the time you were given? Or would you make every second count? The Unus Annus Hourglass is a brilliant take on a collectible to remember Ethan and Mark’s project. At 6.2 inches tall, this beautiful hourglass houses two heads and faux black sand to symbolize time running out. The front of the hourglass includes an engraving of the words Unus Annus and Memento Mori. Looking at the piece from behind, we see that time has ran out, symbolized by the pearly white skulls of Mark and Ethan. This piece is best displayed in an area where it is able to be viewed from 360 degrees. From a top down view, the top portion of the hourglass includes the creepy spiral white and black pattern from videos on the channel. The window box is clean, utilizing a large amount of white space to symbolize the nothingness leftover once the timer has ended. This collectible ships in a matte, embossed, protective outer sleeve.
About Unus Annus
Unus Annus was a project created by Markiplier and Crankgameplays in which a Youtube channel was created for only one year. At the end of the term, the channel self-destructs and is never used again. This project captures the impermanence of human existence and encourages viewers to live life to the fullest.
